Job summary

Family Dollar is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help with store operations, customer service and team development. You will assist with day-to-day functions, support merchandising, lead staff, and ensure high standards of customer care in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent and prior store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store settings. You will work on the sales floor and backroom, upholding company policies and safety

Qualifications

• High school diploma preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment; strong problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns they may have.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of store fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, and record keeping including payroll and cash handling.
• Maintain clean, well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all store assets, including cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines and ensure staff follow procedures.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and colleagues.
