Job summary

Family Dollar is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with day-to-day functions, help customers, and ensure merchandise is organized and displayed effectively.

The role requires strong communication and teamwork skills, with a focus on maintaining store standards, safety, and a positive customer experience. This on-site position offers growth opportunities and exposure to all aspects of store management.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store.
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays for storefronts.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, process damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, and cash handling; support loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to safety policies; ensure associates follow procedures.
• Assist Store Manager in supervising, training, and developing Store Associates.
• Provide a positive, safe, respectful environment with professional interactions with customers and staff.
• Maintain store cleanliness including bathrooms, floors, trash, and neat presentation.
• Other duties as assigned.
