Job summary

Family Dollar is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development in a fast-paced retail environment. You will assist with daily functions, help customers, organize merchandise, and support the Store Manager in training and supervising associates.

The role emphasizes maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming store, following corporate directives, and ensuring promotional displays and stock levels meet company standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives is required.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks (standing, walking, bending, climbing).
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment and develop staff.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns they may have.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays and ensure store cleanliness and organization.
