J.Crew is seeking an Assistant Manager in New York to join the leadership team. You’ll drive profitability through genuine customer connections, brand loyalty, and strong community engagement.

You will coach the sales team and collaborate with the leadership group to adapt strategies for business success and seamless operational support. You will supervise a division (visuals, operations, HR, service and selling) and partner to recruit, train, and develop the team.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years retail management experience.
• Passionately support our brand, customers, and teams.
• Stay up to date with current fashion trends and industry developments.
• Embrace teamwork, flexibility, and courtesy while executing tasks.
• Innovate and champion new ideas while navigating uncertainty, demonstrating strong problem-solving skills.
• Have scheduling flexibility, including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Must bend, reach, stretch for product and lift up to 40 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Support the Store Director & Associate Store Manager to impact business results with a strong connection to the brand and profitability.
• Own designated division of responsibility (Visual Merchandising, Operations, HR, Service & Selling).
• Manage store operations, systems and technology with accountability.
• Assist recruiting, training and development efforts when needed.
• Partner with leadership to create a collaborative working environment for all associates.
• Ensure the team consistently meets goals and delivers best-in-class customer service.
• Lead product knowledge sessions to boost associate/customer connection.
• Develop innovative community engagement and loyalty events.
• Step into various sales floor roles as needed.
