Job summary

Macy's is seeking an Asset Protection Detective to protect company assets, reduce shortage, and support a safe, customer-focused shopping environment. Using surveillance, investigative tools, and strong partnerships with store teams and law enforcement, you will identify and respond to theft, recover merchandise, and help protect our customers, colleagues, and business.

You will spend your day partnering with AP leaders, reviewing updates, and ensuring compliance with policies while delivering

Qualifications

• Ability to observe and respond to suspicious activity in a retail setting.
• Strong communication to partner with customers, colleagues, leaders, and law enforcement.
• Use judgment and de-escalation tools to maintain a safe environment.
• Handle proprietary, sensitive information with discretion and integrity.
• For New York jobs, a NYS Security Guard License may be required.

Responsibilities

• Identify theft and shortage trends using surveillance and investigations.
• Partner with store teams, AP leaders, and law enforcement to support investigations.
• Prepare clear documentation, statements, and evidence for investigations and audits.
• Train colleagues on protocols to protect company assets and reduce shortage.
• Respond to alarms, assist with special assignments, and provide first aid when needed.
• Testify in court for criminal and civil cases as required.
