Job summary

Macy's is seeking an Asset Protection Detective to help protect store assets, reduce shortage, and maintain a safe, customer-focused shopping environment. You will use surveillance, investigative tools, and collaborate with store teams and law enforcement to identify theft, recover merchandise, and protect customers and colleagues.

In this role, you will work with leadership to support investigations, prepare documentation, and train colleagues on protocols.

Qualifications

• Ability to observe, identify, and respond to suspicious activity in a retail environment.
• Strong communication skills with customers, colleagues, leaders, and law enforcement.
• Apply de-escalation tools and sound judgment to maintain a safe environment.
• Handle confidential information with discretion and integrity.
• For New York jobs, a current NYS Security Guard License is required.

Responsibilities

• Use surveillance to identify theft and dishonest activity.
• Partner with store teams and law enforcement to support investigations.
• Prepare clear documentation and evidence for investigations and legal proceedings.
• Support training of colleagues on asset protection protocols.
• Respond to alarm calls and assist in safety procedures.
