Job summary

Macy’s in Colorado is seeking an Asset Protection Detective to help protect store assets, prevent shortage, and maintain a safe shopping environment. You will use surveillance, investigations, and partnerships with store teams and law enforcement to identify and respond to theft and safeguard customers and colleagues.

This role emphasizes de‑escalation, documentation, and accurate reporting. You’ll work with leadership to reduce loss, protect merchandise, and ensure compliance with policies

Qualifications

• Observe, identify, and respond to suspicious activity in a retail environment.
• Strong communication with customers, colleagues, leaders, and law enforcement.
• Use sound judgment, de-escalation tools, and company procedures to support a safe environment.
• Handle proprietary, sensitive, and confidential information with discretion and integrity.
• New York State Security Guard License required for NY locations.

Responsibilities

• Identify theft, dishonest activity, and shortage trends using surveillance.
• Partner with store teams and law enforcement to support investigations.
• Prepare clear documentation, statements, and evidence to support investigations.
• Testify in court for criminal and civil cases, as needed.
• Maintain compliance with company policies and legal standards related to apprehensions.
• Respond to alarm calls and assist with special assignments.
