Job summary

Macy's is seeking an Asset Protection Detective to help safeguard assets and reduce shortages while ensuring a safe shopping environment. You will use surveillance and investigative tools and collaborate with store teams and law enforcement to identify theft, recover merchandise and support investigations.

As part of a team, you will contribute to maintaining customer and colleague safety, prepare documentation for investigations and train others on protection protocols.

Qualifications

• Observe, identify and respond to suspicious activity in retail.
• Collaborate with customers, colleagues, leaders and law enforcement.
• Use sound judgment and de-escalation tools to maintain safety.
• Handle proprietary information with discretion and integrity.
• New York license note applies only if located in NY; otherwise not required.

Responsibilities

• Identify theft and dishonest activity; respond with proper procedures.
• Partner with store teams and LP leaders to support investigations.
• Prepare clear documentation, statements and evidence for cases.
• Train colleagues on asset protection protocols and safety practices.
• Testify in court when needed and assist with alarm calls.
