Job summary

Hamilton Hotel in Washington, DC is seeking an experienced hospitality supervisor to oversee daily restaurant and service operations.

You will train and schedule front-of-house staff, ensure exceptional guest service, manage inventories, handle guest issues, and assist with menu planning with kitchen, while maintaining health and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Proven supervisory experience in food & beverage operations (hotel/restaurant)
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations (HACCP)
• Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays
• Proficiency with POS systems and basic Microsoft Office applications

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the daily operations of restaurant and service teams.
• Ensure consistent delivery of exceptional customer service to all guests.
• Train, schedule, and support front-of-house staff (servers, bartenders, hosts).
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of dining/service areas per health standards.
• Monitor inventory levels and place orders for supplies/ingredients.
• Handle customer complaints and resolve issues promptly and professionally.
• Assist in menu planning, pricing, and food presentation with kitchen staff.
• Enforce food handling, hygiene, and sanitation policies.
• Prepare reports on sales, inventory, staffing, and guest feedback.
• Support in organizing special events, private functions, and catering services.
