Job summary

HAZA BELL in Danbury, CT is seeking a Restaurant Shift Manager to oversee operations during your assigned shift, lead a team of restaurant crew members, maintain high standards of food quality, cleanliness, and customer service, and uphold company policies and procedures.

You will open and close the restaurant, supervise scheduling, train new hires, ensure food safety, monitor inventory and costs, and collaborate with the management team to deliver a fast, friendly and safe guest experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (required); college degree in Hospitality Management or related field (preferred).
• Certification in food safety (e.g., ServSafe) is advantageous.
• Experience in a supervisory or managerial role within the restaurant industry is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the activities of restaurant crew members during your shift.
• Delegate tasks effectively and ensure team members understand their responsibilities.
• Provide coaching, training, and performance feedback to team members to foster a positive and productive work environment.
• Ensure outstanding customer service by greeting customers, resolving complaints, and handling inquiries promptly and professionally.
• Monitor service quality and address issues to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
• Oversee opening and closing procedures, including cash handling and reconciliation.
• Ensure adherence to food safety and sanitation standards."
• Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed to meet operational demands.
• Create and maintain shift schedules to ensure adequate staffing levels.
• Coordinate with restaurant management to address staffing gaps and schedule adjustments.
• Train new hires on policies, procedures, and responsibilities.
• Conduct ongoing training to develop team members’ skills in customer service, food preparation, and safety protocols.
• Monitor sales performance and expenses during shifts to achieve financial targets and control costs.
• Implement strategies to maximize profitability and optimize operational efficiency.
• Communicate with management and kitchen staff to align on goals and priorities.
