Job summary

Universal Store in Midland, TX is seeking a hands-on Operations Manager to lead a restaurant unit, drive daily performance, and ensure guest satisfaction. You will supervise craft staff, implement training programs, and collaborate with the General Manager to meet financial and operational goals.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED with 2–4 years of related experience, strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills, plus a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Requires clear communication, coordination, and leadership in a restaurant setting.
• Strong numeracy for budgeting, inventories, and reporting.
• Ability to interpret safety rules, SOPs, and procedures, and to train staff accordingly.
• Valid driver’s license may be required for travel and vehicle use.
• Certification through IHOP training courses is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist in achieving budgeted sales and profits.
• Develop professional relationships with IHOP employees and guests.
• Implement Craft Training program for all restaurant hourly employees.
• Assist in executing annual financial, marketing, guest service and HR objectives per SOP.
• Comply with federal, state, and local regulations for the unit.
• Assist in recruitment, training and retention of employees.
• Ensure adequate levels of supplies and proper equipment operation.
• Maintain safety, sanitation, and security practices.
• Assist in completion of required reports and paperwork.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
