Job summary

Yoshinoya America, Inc. is seeking a hands-on shift supervisor to participate in daily food preparation, cooking, plating, cashier duties, and guest relations at our Compton location.

The role includes supervising and training crew, ensuring quality, safety, and FIFO inventory practices while coordinating with the District Manager and corporate office. This position requires at least 2 years of restaurant experience, fluent English, and strong supervisory skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years restaurant experience, preferably in QSR or Fast Casual.
• Fluent in English (written and verbal).
• Ability to: Read and interpret documents such as safety policies and operating/maintenance instructions; supervise and train staff; manage schedules and labor costs.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily shift operations, including food prep, cooking, plating, cashiering and guest relations.
• Serve as backup to team members and cover breaks as needed.
• Train staff and provide consistent feedback and recognition.
• Conduct performance reviews with the District Manager and address disciplinary matters when necessary.
• Order food and supplies, manage inventory using FIFO and rotate stock.
• Handle crew scheduling and control labor costs based on business needs.
• Ensure cash handling procedures are followed and the restaurant remains clean and functional.
• Communicate with crew, District Manager and corporate office; attend quarterly corporate meetings.
• May travel to other stores and to the bank for change.
