About the Role

Our client, a highly-rated fine-dining restaurant in Welkom, Free State , is seeking an experienced and driven Restaurant Operations Manager . This key role involves overseeing all aspects of daily restaurant operations, ensuring exceptional customer service, operational efficiency, and profitability. You will be responsible for managing staff, controlling costs, maintaining quality standards, and enhancing the overall dining experience for patrons. The ideal candidate has a proven history of success in restaurant management, strong leadership capabilities, and a deep understanding of the hospitality industry. Key Responsibilities

Direct and manage all restaurant operations, including front-of-house and back-of-house activities. Ensure the highest standards of guest service, satisfaction, and dining experience. Develop and implement operational strategies to achieve financial goals, including revenue growth and cost control. Manage staff recruitment, training, scheduling, and performance evaluation. Oversee inventory management, including food and beverage ordering, receiving, and stock control. Maintain strict adherence to health, safety, and hygiene regulations. Develop and implement strategies to enhance customer loyalty and increase repeat business. Manage vendor relationships and negotiate favorable terms for supplies. Analyze sales data and financial reports to identify trends and opportunities for improvement. Handle guest feedback, complaints, and resolve issues promptly and effectively.

Requirements

A minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in restaurant management, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership role. Demonstrated success in managing profitable restaurant operations. Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Excellent understanding of restaurant operations, including FOH and BOH functions. Proficiency in financial management, P&L statements, budgeting, and cost control. Experience with inventory management systems and POS systems. Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and make sound decisions. A passion for food, service, and creating exceptional dining experiences. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as needed. Experience in the Welkom area or similar high-volume establishments is beneficial.
