Job summary

A leading conference and events venue in Welkom, Free State, is seeking an experienced Food and Beverage Manager to oversee all F&B operations for large-scale events and daily services.

You will lead menu planning, inventory, budgets, and a diverse catering team while ensuring top-notch guest experiences in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in food and beverage management, preferably in a conference centre, hotel, or large catering facility.
• Experience in menu development, costing, and inventory management.
• Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
• Excellent knowledge of food safety standards and practices (e.g., HACCP).
• Demonstrated ability to manage budgets and control expenses effectively.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on customer service.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required by event schedules.
• Proficiency in relevant POS systems and F&B management software.
• A qualification in Hospitality Management or Culinary Arts is advantageous.
• Experience within the Welkom region is a plus.
