Habit Burger & Grill in California is seeking an Assistant Manager to support the General Manager in daily restaurant operations and lead a high-performing team.

You will recruit, train, and develop FOH & BOH staff, uphold food safety standards, and drive guest satisfaction while maintaining inventory and controlling costs. This role offers a clear career path, hands-on training, and a culture that rewards leadership and teamwork.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of experience in related food service management.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Food Manager Certification/ServSafe required.
• Ability to work a flexible full-time schedule and travel occasionally for meetings, conferences, and training.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting, hiring, and onboarding FOH & BOH team members.
• Assist and supervise the training and development of FOH & BOH team members.
• Uphold food preparation specifics by ensuring standard SOPs are followed for consistent delivery of quality food items.
• Communicate, train, and educate Team Members and Shift Leaders on changes, procedures, products, or equipment.
• Conduct Succession Planning 1-on-1s with designated Team Members.
• Ensure Team Members comply with standards including safety, hygiene, and uniforms.
• Manage daily operations of a restaurant shift.
• Increase sales by ensuring guest satisfaction and prompt problem resolution.
• Ensure food quality and availability.
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and stocking in all areas.
• Assist in developing Team Members and inventory management.
• Placing food orders and processing invoices.
• Track and manage labor and food costs to meet restaurant goals.
• Assist in work schedules and opening/closing shifts.
• Maintain equipment and coordinate service or repair.
