Job summary

Potbelly Sandwich Works is seeking an Assistant Manager to lead daily operations in a Field shop setting. You will train and coach Associates, supervise shifts, and ensure high standards for food quality, service speed, and cleanliness.

Responsibilities include scheduling, coaching, budgeting, and implementing local promotions to grow sales while maintaining cost controls. Franchisee-owned, full-time, nonexempt position with rare travel.

Qualifications

• Requires minimum 2 years management experience in restaurant or retail.
• Must have strong customer service and leadership abilities.
• Must be able to pass Food Safety Certification where required by state.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills are essential.
• Ability to manage schedules, training, and performance reviews.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop Associates and Shift Leaders to deliver quality product and service.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and labor policies.
• Drive sales through local marketing and promotions.
• Maintain P&L control, inventory, and cost management across shifts.
• Schedule staff and supervise operations to meet standards.
