Job summary

Sweetwater Care in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a qualified Respiratory Therapist to independently perform prescribed respiratory care and interpret physician orders, while educating clinical staff.

The role requires ventilator unit experience, state licensure as CRT or RRT, and strong communication. You will collaborate with nursing leadership to integrate respiratory services, ensure regulatory compliance, and support residents' recovery and comfort across the home-like facility.

Qualifications

• Highschool Diploma required.
• Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) in the practicing state.
• Ventilator unit experience required; long-term care or skilled nursing experience preferred.
• Effective communication skills to maintain positive relationships with residents, families, staff, physicians, consultants, providers, and agencies.
• Current knowledge of local, state and federal guidelines and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Promotes healing of acutely ill residents through respiratory care, testing, psychosocial needs and education.
• Provides safe administration of respiratory therapy including intermittent/continuous therapy, ventilation, and monitoring.
• Set up and administer medical gases, humidification, aerosols, medications, ventilatory support, and airway management in the home environment.
• Oversee rehab department management including case management, quality improvement, care planning, and utilization.
• Ensure reimbursement, billing, and records for rehab services and equipment.
• Collaborates with nursing leadership to integrate respiratory care into daily practice; trains staff as needed.
• Assesses and evaluates respiratory care across the nursing center; supports life-sustaining services.
