Qualifications

• Highschool Diploma required.
• Must be Certified Respiratory Therapist or Registered Respiratory Therapist.
• Ventilator Unit experience required; long-term care or skilled nursing preferred.
• Knowledge of local, state and federal guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Performs respiratory care procedures, interprets orders, assesses needs, delivers therapy, and evaluates response.
• Administers intermittent and continuous therapy, ventilation, airway management, and oxygen/CO2 monitoring.
• Sets up and uses medical gases, humidification, aerosols, medications, ventilatory support, and chest physiotherapy for home patients.
• Oversees rehab department management, case management, quality improvement, care planning, and utilization.
• Ensures reimbursement, billing, and documentation of resident records and equipment.
• Collaborates with nursing leadership to integrate respiratory care and trains staff.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate respiratory care and life support; promote efficient operation.
• Coordinate equipment orders and ensure proper equipment allocation.
• Communicate changes in resident condition with physicians and families; adjust care plans accordingly.
• Develop discharge plans and track maintenance of respiratory equipment.
• Assess developmental needs across life span and adapt care.
• Provide general medical equipment and supplies to residents as ordered.
• Other duties may change.
