Job summary

The ideal candidate holds CRT or RRT certification with current BLS; ACLS is preferred and ventilator unit experience is required, preferably in long-term acute care or skilled

Qualifications

• Must hold CRT or RRT certification in the practicing state.
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred.
• Ventilator unit experience is required; LTC/SNF experience preferred.
• Possess effective communication to coordinate with residents, families, staff and physicians.

Responsibilities

• Promote healing of acutely ill residents through respiratory care and education.
• Provide safe administration of respiratory therapy including ventilation and monitoring.
• Set up and manage medical gas administration, humidification and related equipment.
• Oversee rehab department management, case management, quality improvement and care planning.
• Coordinate with nursing leadership to integrate respiratory care into daily practice.
• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate respiratory care plans for residents.
• Discharge planning and follow-up on respiratory equipment maintenance.
• Communicate changes in resident condition to physicians and families; adjust care plans as needed.
• Ensure provision of general medical equipment and supplies as prescribed.
