Job summary

Sweetwater Care in Phoenix, AZ seeks an experienced Respiratory Therapist to independently perform respiratory procedures, interpret orders, assess residents, deliver prescribed therapy and evaluate responses. The role functions as educator, consultant and clinician to clinical staff in a home health setting.

Responsibilities include administering ventilation, gas delivery, airway management, and monitoring, plus coordinating with nursing leadership.

Qualifications

• Highschool Diploma required.
• Licensed Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) in state of practice.
• Ventilator unit experience required; LTC/sub-acute or skilled nursing preferred.
• Strong communication with residents, families, staff, physicians and agencies.
• Knowledge of local, state and federal guidelines and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Promotes healing of acutely ill residents through respiratory care, education and assessment.
• Administers intermittent and continuous therapy, including ventilation and airway management.
• Sets up and uses medical gases, humidification, aerosols, ventilatory support and related equipment.
• Oversees rehab department management, case management, and care planning.
• Ensures billing, records and equipment documentation are accurate.
• Collaborates with nursing leadership and trains staff as needed.
• Plans, implements and evaluates respiratory therapy care and life support.
• Coordinates equipment orders and documentation from referrals and physicians.
• Develops discharge plans and follows up on equipment maintenance.
