Sweetwater Care is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to independently provide respiratory care, interpret orders, assess resident needs, and evaluate responses in a home care/long-term setting.

Credential requirements include CRT or RRT in the practicing state, with emphasis on ventilator management and adherence to current guidelines. Strong communication with residents, families, and the care team is essential.

Qualifications

• Highschool Diploma required.
• Must be a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) in the practicing state.
• Ventilator unit experience required; long-term care or skilled nursing experience preferred.
• Effective communication skills to work with residents, families, staff, physicians, consultants, providers, and agencies.
• Knowledge of local, state and federal guidelines and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Promotes healing of acutely ill residents through respiratory care, tests, and education.
• Administers respiratory care including ventilation, oxygen monitoring, and airway management.
• Sets up and uses medical gases, humidification, aerosols, medications, ventilatory support, and chest physiotherapy.
• Oversees rehab department management, case management, quality improvement, and care planning.
• Coordinates with nursing leadership to integrate respiratory care into daily nursing practice.
