Job summary

Minimum licensure in the applicable states is required, with BLS within 30 days of hire. The role requires 1 year of experience, with advancement opportunities through a Clinical Ladder program and potential Level 2-5 progression.

Qualifications

• Licensed respiratory therapist by the applicable state where services will be performed.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire date.
• 1 year respiratory therapist experience.
• ACLS, PALS, NRP, STABLE and Point of Care Technician credentials as required by department.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist preferred.
• Two years of respiratory therapist experience is an advantagetowards higher levels.

Responsibilities

• Performs basic and advanced therapeutic procedures for neonatal, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients by order of the physician.
• Assembles, checks, and corrects malfunctions and performs quality controls on Respiratory Care equipment.
• Initiates, maintains, and discontinues mechanical ventilation for adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients.
• Communicates appropriately with the healthcare team regarding patient care.
• Assists with patient and family education.
• Participates in departmental quality assurance and hospital-wide improvement activities.
• Performs diagnostic procedures for pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients as ordered by the physician.
• Maintains clinical and professional competency and departmental competencies.
