Job summary

BridgePoint Continuing Care Hospital – Capitol Hill in Washington, DC seeks a Respiratory Therapist (RT) for a 13-week or 6-month contract. Night shifts are available, with a base rate of $65/hour and a posted range of $59-$65/hour.

The Respiratory Therapist will monitor ventilation, administer medications, and perform patient assessments, ensuring safe and effective respiratory care in a team-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an AMA approved School of Respiratory Care.
• Current NBRC credentials as Respiratory Therapist; active state licensure; BLS & ACLS required.
• 1 year of respiratory care experience preferred.
• Weekend work required; Safety Sensitive position.

Responsibilities

• Administer safe and competent respiratory care as ordered by a physician.
• Monitor mechanical ventilation, administer medications, and perform patient assessments.
• Review labs, monitor patient status, and participate in teaching and training.

Hiring Range: $59.00-$65.00/hr. which includes premium pay in lieu of benefits.

This position is hired at a flat rate of $65/hour. The posted range reflects internal compensation structure and compliance with pay transparency requirements.

What You’ll Be Doing:

Here at BridgePoint our Respiratory Therapist – RT is responsible for administering safe and competent respiratory care as ordered by a physician. The Respiratory Therapist – RT monitors mechanical ventilation, administers medications, and completes patient assessments. The Respiratory Therapist – RT must understand ramifications of hemodynamic monitoring, reviews blood work results, monitor patient status, and participate in teaching and training.

Respiratory Care Practitioners, RRT, Registered Respiratory Therapist, Certified Respiratory Therapist, Respiratory Care Provider, RCP, RT

Requirements:

Education: Graduate of an AMA approved School of Respiratory Care.

Licenses/Certification: Current credentials as a Respiratory Therapist by the National Board of Respiratory Care. Current licensure from state licensure agency. BLS & ACLS Certifications required.

Experience: 1 year of respiratory care experience preferred.
