Job summary

Sweetwater Care in Deer Lodge, MT is seeking a Respiratory Therapist who can interpret orders, assess residents, deliver prescribed therapy, and evaluate responses, serving as clinician and educator to staff.

You will provide ventilatory support, oxygen therapy, airway management, and ensure equipment maintenance, while coordinating with nursing leadership and case management; prior LTAC or SNF experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Highschool diploma required.
• Must be CRT or RRT in the practicing state.
• BLS current; ACLS preferred.
• Fingerprint clearance required.
• TB test current within the last year; physical within 6 months.
• COVID vaccination/card.
• Ventilator unit experience; long-term acute care or skilled nursing preferred.
• Strong communication with residents, families, staff and providers.
• Knowledge of local, state and federal guidelines in the practicing state.

Responsibilities

• Promote healing of acutely ill residents through respiratory care and education.
• Provide safe administration of respiratory care, including therapy, ventilation, airway management and monitoring.
• Set up and manage medical gas delivery, humidification, aerosols and ventilatory support.
• Oversee rehab department clinical management, case management, and quality improvement.
• Coordinate equipment needs and document orders from referral sources and physicians.
• Communicate changes in residents' conditions with nursing and adjust care plans.
• Develop discharge plans and track preventive maintenance of respiratory equipment.
• Assess developmental needs across life span and adapt care accordingly.
