Job summary

Sweetwater Care in Butte, MT is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to independently perform respiratory care procedures, interpret orders, assess resident needs, deliver prescribed therapy, and evaluate resident responses.

Ideal candidates hold CRT or RRT, BLS, ACLS preferred, and have ventilator unit experience in long-term care or skilled nursing. Strong communication and knowledge of state and federal guidelines are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Must be a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).
• Current BLS required; ACLS preferred.
• Current Finger Print Card Clearance.
• Current TB test within the last year.
• Physical within the last 6 months.
• COVID-19 vaccination card.
• Ventilator unit experience required; LTC or skilled nursing preferred.
• Strong communication to interact with residents, families, staff, physicians, and agencies.
• Knowledge of local, state and federal guidelines in the practice location.

Responsibilities

• Promotes healing of acutely ill residents through respiratory care, education, and case management.
• Provides proper and safe administration of respiratory care including ventilation, oxygen, and monitoring.
• Sets up and uses medical gases, humidification, medications, and airway support as it relates to home care.
• Oversees rehab department management, quality improvement, care planning, clinical utilization and resident identification.
• Ensures rehab department management including reimbursement, services criteria, billing, and records.
• Collaborates with nursing leadership to integrate respiratory care into daily practice; trains staff as needed.
• Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates respiratory therapy care and life support across the resident population.
• Coordinates equipment orders and service needs from referral source, physician, resident, family.
• Develops discharge plans and follows up on respiratory therapy equipment.
• Assesses developmental needs across lifespan and adapts care accordingly.
• Provides general medical equipment and supplies as ordered by a physician.
• Other duties as assigned.
