Job summary

The Paramount at Somers Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to assess and implement respiratory care plans for patients with acute or chronic respiratory conditions.

You will administer treatments, monitor patient status, educate families on equipment and disease management, and collaborate with the care team while maintaining accurate documentation and infection control standards in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Respiratory therapy certificate from an accredited program required
• Bachelor's degree in related field preferred

Responsibilities

• Administer respiratory treatments, including oxygen therapy, incentive spirometry and nebulization.
• Monitor patient conditions, record vital signs, and assess respiratory status
• Educate patients and families on respiratory equipment, treatments, and disease management
• Collaborate with providers and other healthcare professionals to develop and adjust care plans
• Participate in rounds, care conferences and patient discharge planning meetings
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in compliance with organizational policies and regulatory standards
• Ensure adherence to infection control practices and safety protocols

Responsibilities

• 1. Respiratory Therapy

• 2. Documentation and Compliance


• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in compliance with organizational policies and regulatory standards


• Ensure adherence to infection control practices and safety protocols

Qualifications/Requirements

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent, required. Bachelor\'s Degree preferred. Certificate of completion from an accredited respiratory therapist program, required.


• Licensure: New York State Respiratory Therapy Technician or Respiratory Therapist License


• Experience: Previous experience in respiratory therapy, critical care, or related areas


• Skills:


• Proficiency in respiratory care techniques and nursing procedures


• Strong critical thinking, problem solving and decision-making abilities


• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills


• Ability to work in high pressure situations and maintain a calm demeanor

Compensation :$50/hour
