Job summary

The Paramount at Somers Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist for part-time weekend and evening shifts (approx. 15 hrs/week).

You will assess, plan, and implement respiratory care for patients with acute or chronic conditions, administer treatments, monitor status, educate families, and collaborate with the care team. Licensing in NY and RT program completion are required; prior critical care experience is valued.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent, required. Bachelor's Degree preferred. Certificate of completion from an accredited respiratory therapist program, required.
• Licensure: New York State Respiratory Therapy Technician or Respiratory Therapist License
• Experience: Previous experience in respiratory therapy, critical care, or related areas
• Skills: Respiratory care techniques, strong problem solving, communication, and ability to work under pressure

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan and implement respiratory care plans for patients with acute or chronic respiratory conditions
• Administer respiratory treatments, including oxygen therapy, incentive spirometry and nebulization
• Monitor patient conditions, record vital signs, and assess respiratory status
• Educate patients and families on respiratory equipment, treatments, and disease management
• Collaborate with providers to develop and adjust care plans
• Participate in rounds, care conferences and patient discharge planning meetings
• Maintain accurate patient records and ensure infection control compliance

Responsibilities:

• Respiratory Therapy
  • Assess, plan and implement respiratory care plans for patients with acute or chronic respiratory conditions
  • Administer respiratory treatments, including oxygen therapy, incentive spirometry and nebulization.
  • Monitor patient conditions, record vital signs, and assess respiratory status
  • Educate patients and families on respiratory equipment, treatments, and disease management
  • Collaborate with providers and other healthcare professionals to develop and adjust care plans
  • Participate in rounds, care conferences and patient discharge planning meetings
• Documentation and Compliance:
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in compliance with organizational policies and regulatory standards
  • Ensure adherence to infection control practices and safety protocols

Compensation :$50/hour
