Qualifications

• Education: HS diploma or equivalent; RT certificate required; bachelor's degree preferred.
• Licensure: NY State Respiratory Therapy Technician or Respiratory Therapist License.
• Experience: Prior respiratory therapy, critical care or related experience.
• Skills: respiratory care techniques, critical thinking, communication, ability to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan and implement respiratory care plans for patients with acute or chronic respiratory conditions.
• Administer respiratory treatments, including oxygen therapy, incentive spirometry and nebulization.
• Monitor patient conditions, record vital signs, and assess respiratory status.
• Educate patients and families on respiratory equipment, treatments, and disease management.
• Collaborate with providers and other healthcare professionals to develop and adjust care plans.
• Participate in rounds, care conferences and patient discharge planning meetings.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate, up-to-date patient records; ensure infection control and safety protocols.

Responsibilities:

• Respiratory Therapy

  • Administer respiratory treatments, including oxygen therapy, incentive spirometry and nebulization.
  • Monitor patient conditions, record vital signs, and assess respiratory status
  • Educate patients and families on respiratory equipment, treatments, and disease management
  • Collaborate with providers and other healthcare professionals to develop and adjust care plans
  • Participate in rounds, care conferences and patient discharge planning meetings
• Documentation and Compliance:
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in compliance with organizational policies and regulatory standards
  • Ensure adherence to infection control practices and safety protocols

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent, required. Bachelor's Degree preferred. Certificate of completion from an accredited respiratory therapist program, required.
• Licensure: New York State Respiratory Therapy Technician or Respiratory Therapist License
• Experience: Previous experience in respiratory therapy, critical care, or related areas
• Skills:
  • Proficiency in respiratory care techniques and nursing procedures
  • Strong critical thinking, problem solving and decision-making abilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in high pressure situations and maintain a calm demeanor

Compensation :$50/hour
