Responsibilities

• Assess, plan and implement respiratory care for patients with acute or chronic respiratory conditions.
• Administer respiratory treatments including oxygen, incentive spirometry and nebulization.
• Monitor patient conditions, record vital signs and assess respiratory status.
• Educate patients and families on respiratory equipment, treatments and disease management.
• Collaborate with providers to develop and adjust care plans.
• Participate in rounds, care conferences and discharge planning meetings.
• Maintain accurate patient records and ensure infection control and safety compliance.

Responsibilities include:

1. Respiratory Therapy:

• Assess, plan and implement respiratory care plans for patients with acute or chronic respiratory conditions
• Administer respiratory treatments, including oxygen therapy, incentive spirometry and nebulization.
• Monitor patient conditions, record vital signs, and assess respiratory status
• Educate patients and families on respiratory equipment, treatments, and disease management
• Collaborate with providers and other healthcare professionals to develop and adjust care plans
• Participate in rounds, care conferences and patient discharge planning meetings

2. Documentation and Compliance:

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in compliance with organizational policies and regulatory standards
• Ensure adherence to infection control practices and safety protocols

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Education: Associate or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (AND or BSN) required
• Licensure: Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York State
• Experience: Previous experience in respiratory therapy, critical care, or related areas

Compensation :$50/hour
