Job summary

The Paramount at Somers Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is seeking a skilled full-time Respiratory Therapist to join our healthcare team. The selected candidate will assess and implement respiratory care plans, administer treatments, monitor patients, and educate families about equipment and disease management.

Responsibilities include collaboration with interdisciplinary teams, rounds, discharge planning, and maintaining compliant patient records.

Qualifications

• Certificate of completion from an accredited respiratory therapist program is required.
• New York State Respiratory Therapy Technician or Respiratory Therapist License is required/needed.
• A Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
• Experience in respiratory therapy or critical care is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan and implement respiratory care plans for patients with acute or chronic respiratory conditions.
• Administer respiratory treatments, including oxygen therapy, incentive spirometry and nebulization.
• Monitor patient conditions, record vital signs, and assess respiratory status.
• Educate patients and families on respiratory equipment, treatments, and disease management.
• Collaborate with providers and other healthcare professionals to develop and adjust care plans.
• Participate in rounds, care conferences and patient discharge planning meetings.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in compliance with policies and regulatory standards.
• Adhere to infection control practices and safety protocols.

Responsibilities:

1. Respiratory Therapy

2. Documentation and Compliance:

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in compliance with organizational policies and regulatory standards
• Ensure adherence to infection control practices and safety protocols

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent, required. Bachelor's Degree preferred. Certificate of completion from an accredited respiratory therapist program, required.
• Licensure: New York State Respiratory Therapy Technician or Respiratory Therapist License
• Experience: Previous experience in respiratory therapy, critical care, or related areas
• Skills:
  • Proficiency in respiratory care techniques and nursing procedures
  • Strong critical thinking, problem solving and decision-making abilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in high pressure situations and maintain a calm demeanor

Compensation :$50/hour
