Job summary

Sweetwater Care in Kalispell, MT is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to independently perform prescribed therapies, interpret orders, assess resident needs, and evaluate responses. This role also functions as a consultant, educator and clinician to the care team.

New grads are welcome. Must be CRT or RRT, have current BLS, and TB testing within the last year, with ventilator unit experience preferred for this LTC setting.

Qualifications

• Must be a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) in the state.
• High school diploma required.
• Current BLS; ACLS preferred.
• Current Finger Print Card Clearance.
• Current TB within the last year.
• Physical within the last 6 months.
• COVID vaccination card.
• Ventilator unit experience required; LTC or skilled nursing preferred.
• Strong communication with residents, families, staff, physicians, consultants, providers and the community.
• Knowledge of local, state and federal guidelines and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Promotes healing of acutely ill residents through respiratory care and education.
• Provides proper and safe administration of respiratory care including ventilation and oxygen monitoring.
• Sets up and administers medical gases, humidification, aerosols, medications, and airway care.
• Follows rehab department management, case management, quality improvement and care planning.
• Ensures rehab department management including reimbursement, billing and records.
• Collaborates with nursing leadership to integrate respiratory care into daily practice.
• Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates respiratory therapy care and life support.
• Manages equipment coordination and orders from referral sources and physicians.
• Develops discharge plans and follows up on equipment maintenance.
• Coordinates communication with residents and families and adjusts care plans as needed.
