Job summary

Ochsner Health System in Slidell, LA is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to provide RT/CRT services, oxygen therapy, diagnostic testing and ventilation support for neonatal to geriatric patients.

You will perform routine and advanced therapeutic procedures, review clinical information, educate patients and co-workers, and document care while adhering to policies; ACLS/BLS certification required within the specified timeframe. Flexibility for 24/7 coverage may be required.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree is required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• Current license as a Respiratory Therapist in the state of practice and NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) must be obtained within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine and advanced therapeutic procedures according to established policy and procedure.
• Reviews and documents all clinical information regarding each patient.
• Educates patients and co-workers on procedures and treatment plans.
• Performs diagnostic procedures.
• Provides care based on patient age and clinical criteria.
• Adapts communication and care to individual patient needs.
