Job summary

Ochsner Health System is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to provide respiratory care, oxygen services, diagnostic testing, and ventilation support for neonates to geriatrics at our Louisiana facilities.

The role requires current RT license, BLS, and ACLS within 90 days, with an Associate's degree (Bachelor's preferred) and strong communication skills to educate patients and staff. This is a full-time on-site position with 24/7 flexibility expectations.

Qualifications

• Must have current Respiratory Therapist license in practice state.
• CBLS/ACLS certifications required; ACLS within 90 days.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine and advanced respiratory therapy per policy.
• Reviews and documents clinical information for each patient.
• Educates patients and staff on procedures and treatment plans.
• Performs diagnostic procedures and arterial blood gas analyses.
• Delivers care respecting patient age and privacy considerations.
