Job summary

Ochsner Health System in Slidell, LA is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to provide bedside care, oxygen therapy, and ventilation support for neonatal to geriatric patients. You will perform ABG analysis, document findings, and educate patients and staff on procedures and treatment plans.

Requirements include an Associate's degree, state licensure as a Respiratory Therapist, and BLS; ACLS within 90 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree required; Bachelor's preferred.
• Current License as a Respiratory Therapist in the state of practice.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification.
• BLS required; ACLS must be obtained within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine and advanced therapeutic procedures according to established policy and procedure.
• Reviews and documents all clinical information regarding each patient.
• Educates patients and co-workers on procedures and treatment plans.
• Performs diagnostic procedures.
• Provides care based on patient age with safety and privacy considerations.
