Job summary

Ochsner Health in Slidell, LA seeks a Respiratory Therapist to provide respiratory care, oxygen services, diagnostic testing and ventilation support for in-patients and out-patients from neonatal to geriatric. You will monitor and manage oxygen therapy, arterial blood gases and EKGs under physician orders and policy.

The role requires an Associate's Degree, an active Respiratory Therapist license in Louisiana, and relevant certifications with ACLS due within 90 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree required.
• Current license as a Respiratory Therapist in the state of practice.
• NRP certification (neonatal) if NICU trained.
• ACLS must be obtained within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine and advanced respiratory procedures according to established policy and procedure.
• Reviews and documents all clinical information regarding each patient.
• Educates patients and co-workers on procedures and treatment plans.
• Performs diagnostic procedures.
• Provides care based on patient age and related criteria; maintains up-to-date professional certifications.
• Attends staff meetings.
• Other related duties as required.
