Job summary

Powerback Rehabilitation seeks a Respiratory Therapist to provide respiratory care under medical supervision in a skilled nursing setting. You will assess, treat, and manage residents, collaborating with staff to ensure optimal care for adults and the elderly.

You will document care, monitor ventilators, perform airway management, and participate in interdisciplinary rounds, CPR, and quality assurance activities.

Qualifications

• Completion of NBRC approved respiratory therapy program.
• One year of clinical practice experience under medical direction.
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support certification.
• Current State Licensure for a Respiratory Care Practitioner.
• Familiarity with quality assurance programs.

Responsibilities

• Initiates and monitors life support systems for residents.
• Performs airway care and ventilator management.
• Maintains and troubleshoots mechanical ventilators.
• Participates in CPR and resuscitation procedures.
• Documents respiratory care services in medical records.
• Transcribes orders and sets up oxygen and supplies.
• Educates residents and families on procedures.
