Accendra Health is hiring a Respiratory Therapist to provide home visits and on-site support with a balanced schedule and on-call rotation. You’ll set up oxygen and ventilation equipment, educate patients, and document care while collaborating with physicians and case managers.

We seek individuals with an active IN RT license, 2+ years of respiratory care experience, and a graduate of an accredited respiratory therapy program. A valid driver's license and CPR certification are required.

Competenze

• Active Indiana RT license required.

• Ability to stand, lift 10–50 lbs.

• Proficient with mobile technology and digital documentation.

Why is this Respiratory Therapist role different

This role offers a balanced mix of in-office support and field-based patient care with a predictable schedule and manageable on-call rotation. It is well-suited for both new graduates and experienced RTs who enjoy hands-on patient education and teamwork.

Key highlights

• Work Arrangement: On-site; 50% office, 50% road.
• Hours: 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM.
• Driving Distance: Up to 60 miles from the branch.
• Reimbursements: Mileage $0.70.
• Salary range $32 – $38 per hour. Compensation offered may vary based on job-related factors such as experience, skills, education and location.
• On-Call transparency Rotates every 8th week.

What you’ll do

• Conduct home visits to perform oxygen, CPAP/BiPAP, and ventilation equipment setups and follow‑ups
• Educate patients and caregivers on equipment use, cleaning, troubleshooting, and maintenance
• Assess patient needs, document care delivered, and elevate concerns appropriately
• Respond to hospital discharge requests and support patient needs
• Collaborating with physicians, case managers, and internal branch teams
• Maintain accurate documentation using iPad/laptop
• Set up and operate various types of respiratory care equipment, including, but not limited to, oxygen therapy, nebulization therapy, apnea monitoring, suctioning, PAP, invasive and non-invasive ventilation
• Inspects and tests equipment to ensure proper operating condition
• Perform clinical assessments and tests such as pulse oximetry, ETCO2, spirometry and gathering vital signs
• Performs other duties as required

What we look for

• Registered Respiratory Therapist with an active IN RT license.
• Minimum 2 years of experience as an RT or RN in respiratory care.
• Ability to stand, lift, push and/or pull objects ranging from 10 – 50 lbs.
• Valid driver's license
• Comfortable using mobile technology, navigation tools, and digital documentation
• Education
• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
• Certificates, licenses, registrations or professional designations
• Hold a current RCP license in the state of practice (or states that the location covers) if that state requires an RCP license to allow the practice of respiratory therapy
• Hold a current CPR Certification
• Hold all applicable licensure in good standing for all states of practice
