Job summary

Accendra Health is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to join our on-site team, with 8:30 AM–5:00 PM schedule and 2-3 days on the road. You will perform oxygen therapy, CPAP/BiPAP setups, and ventilation support during home visits, while collaborating with physicians and branch teams.

You will educate patients, document care using iPad/laptop, conduct clinical assessments (pulse oximetry, ETCO2, spirometry), and handle maintenance.

Qualifications

• Certified or Registered Respiratory Therapist with active IL RT license.
• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
• Current CPR certification and valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Conduct home visits to perform oxygen, CPAP/BiPAP, and ventilation equipment setups and follow-ups.
• Educate patients and caregivers on equipment use, cleaning, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
• Assess patient needs, document care delivered, and elevate concerns appropriately.
• Respond to hospital discharge requests and support patient needs.
• Collaborate with physicians, case managers, and internal branch teams.
• Maintain accurate documentation using iPad/laptop.
• Set up and operate respiratory care equipment including oxygen, nebulization, PAP, ventilation.
• Inspect and test equipment to ensure proper operating condition.
• Perform clinical assessments and tests such as pulse oximetry, ETCO2, spirometry, vital signs.
• Perform other duties as required.

This role combines clinical autonomy with strong team support. You will work across a growing market, performing varied respiratory procedures while partnering with a collaborative, training-focused branch team.

Key highlights

• Work Arrangement: On-site daily with 2-3 days on the road.
• Hours: 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM; open to 4x10 schedule.
• Travel: 30-45 minutes to first stop, up to 1 hour occasionally; telehealth used when possible.
• Salary range $34 - $38 per hour. Compensation offered may vary based on job-related factors such as experience, skills, education and location.
• OnCall transparency On-call rotation every 3rd week; flexibility needed for home visits and hospital support.

What you'll do

• Set up and operate various types of respiratory care equipment, including, but not limited to, oxygen therapy, nebulization therapy, apnea monitoring, suctioning, PAP, invasive and non-invasive ventilation
• Inspects and tests equipment to ensure proper operating condition
• Perform clinical assessments and tests such as pulse oximetry, ETCO2, spirometry and gathering vital signs
• Performs other duties as required

What we look for

• Certified or Registered Respiratory Therapist with an active IL RT license
• Ability to stand, lift, push and/or pull objects ranging from 10 - 50 lbs.
• Valid driver's license
• Comfortable using mobile technology, navigation tools, and digital documentation
• Education Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program
• Certificates, licenses, registrations or professional designations
• Hold a current RCP license in the state of practice (or states that the location covers) if that state requires an RCP license to allow the practice of respiratory therapy
• Hold a current CPR Certification
• Hold all applicable licensure in good standing for all states of practice
