Job summary

Accendra Health, Inc. is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist for an on-site role in Indiana (Muncie) with a balanced mix of in-office and field-based patient care.

The position offers a predictable schedule, with a 50% office and 50% road workflow, and an 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM hours window. You will conduct home visits for oxygen, CPAP/BiPAP, and ventilation equipment setups, educate patients, document care, and collaborate with physicians and care teams.

Qualifications

• Registered Respiratory Therapist with active IN RT license.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in respiratory care (RT or RN).
• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.

Responsibilities

• Perform home visits to set up and follow up oxygen, CPAP/BiPAP, and ventilation equipment.
• Educate patients and caregivers on equipment use, cleaning, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
• Document care delivered and elevate concerns as needed.
• Coordinate with physicians, case managers, and branch teams.

Key highlights

• Reimbursements: Mileage $0.70.
• Salary range $32 - $38 per hour.
• Compensation may vary based on experience, skills, education, and applicable credentials.
• On‑Call transparency Rotates every 8th week.

What you’ll do

• Conduct home visits to perform oxygen, CPAP/BiPAP, and ventilation equipment setups and follow‑ups.
• Educate patients and caregivers on equipment use, cleaning, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
• Assess patient needs, document care delivered, and elevate concerns appropriately.
• Respond to hospital discharge requests and support patient needs.
• Collaborating with physicians, case managers, and internal branch teams.
• Maintain accurate documentation using iPad/laptop.
• Set up and operate various types of respiratory care equipment, including, but not limited to, oxygen therapy, nebulization therapy, apnea monitoring, suctioning, PAP, invasive and non‑invasive ventilation.
• Inspects and tests equipment to ensure proper operating condition.
• Perform clinical assessments and tests such as pulse oximetry, ETCO2, spirometry and gathering vital signs.
• Performs other duties as required.

What we look for

• Registered Respiratory Therapist with an active IN RT license.
• Minimum 2 years of experience as an RT or RN in respiratory care.
• Ability to stand, lift, push and/or pull objects ranging from 10 – 50 lbs.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Comfortable using mobile technology, navigation tools, and digital documentation.
• Education: Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
• Certificates, licenses, registrations or professional designations.
• Hold a current RCP license in the state of practice (or states that the location covers) if that state requires an RCP license to allow the practice of respiratory therapy.
• Hold a current CPR Certification.
• Hold all applicable licensure in good standing for all states of practice.
