Job summary

Accendra Health is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist for an on-site role blending patient support in the office with field visits. You will conduct home equipment setups for oxygen, CPAP/BiPAP, and ventilation, educate patients, document care, and collaborate with physicians and care teams in a dynamic environment.

The position requires WA licensure, CPR, and a valid driver’s license, with travel typically 20–30 miles and occasional longer trips up to 70 miles.

Qualifications

• Registered Respiratory Therapist with WA license or willingness to obtain.
• CPR certification required.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Experience with home visits and respiratory care equipment setup preferred.
• Ability to document care delivered accurately and timely.

Responsibilities

• Conduct home visits to set up and follow up on oxygen, CPAP/BiPAP, and ventilation equipment.
• Educate patients and caregivers on equipment use, cleaning, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
• Assess patient needs and document care, escalating concerns when needed.
• Respond to hospital discharge requests and support patient needs.
• Collaborate with physicians, case managers, and internal teams.
• Maintain accurate documentation using mobile devices.
• Operate various respiratory care devices safely and effectively.
• Perform clinical assessments such as pulse oximetry and vitals.

Why is this Respiratory Therapist role different

This role provides a strong balance of office-based patient support and limited travel, with highly manageable on-call expectations. Ideal for RTs who thrive in a collaborative, hands‑on environment with a focus on patient education and respiratory care excellence.

Key highlights

• Work Arrangement: On-site; 60% office, 40% road.
• Hours: 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM
• Driving Distance: Up to 70 miles; normally 20–30 miles.
• Moving in between locations
• Salary range $40 – $45 per hour. Compensation offered may vary based on job-related factors such as experience, skills, education and location.
• On-Call transparency 1 week every 4-6 weeks

What you’ll do

• Conduct home visits to perform oxygen, CPAP/BiPAP, and ventilation equipment setups and follow‑ups
• Educate patients and caregivers on equipment use, cleaning, troubleshooting, and maintenance
• Assess patient needs, document care delivered, and escalating concerns appropriately
• Respond to hospital discharge requests and support patient needs
• Collaborating with physicians, case managers, and internal branch teams
• Maintain accurate documentation using iPad/laptop
• Set up and operate various types of respiratory care equipment, including, but not limited to, oxygen therapy, nebulization therapy, apnea monitoring, suctioning, PAP, invasive and non‑invasive ventilation
• Inspects and tests equipment to ensure proper operating condition
• Perform clinical assessments and tests such as pulse oximetry, ETCO2, spirometry and gathering vital signs
• Performs other duties as required

What we look for

• Registered Respiratory Therapist with an active WA RT license.
• OR RT License is a plus or willingness to obtain.
• Ability to stand, lift, push and/or pull objects ranging from 10 – 50 lbs.
• Valid driver's license
• Comfortable using mobile technology, navigation tools, and digital documentation.
• Education Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
• Certificates, licenses, registrations or professional designations
• Hold a current RCP license in the state of practice (or states that the location covers) if that state requires an RCP license to allow the practice of respiratory therapy
• Hold a current CPR Certification
• Hold all applicable licensure in good standing for all states of practice
