Job summary

Accendra Health is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for a balanced in‑office and field role. You’ll perform oxygen and ventilation equipment setups, educate patients, and coordinate with physicians and care teams.

The position features a predictable schedule (8:30 AM–5:00 PM), a 60‑mile driving radius from the branch, and mileage reimbursement. On‑call rotates every 8th week, with a focus on safety and quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Registered Respiratory Therapist with an active IN RT license.
• Minimum 2 years of RT or RN experience in respiratory care.
• Ability to stand, lift, push and pull objects 10–50 lbs.
• Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
• Comfortable using mobile tech, navigation tools and digital documentation.

Responsibilities

• Conduct home visits to set up oxygen, CPAP/BiPAP, and ventilation equipment.
• Educate patients/caregivers on equipment use, cleaning, troubleshooting and maintenance.
• Document care delivered and escalate concerns when needed.
• Respond to hospital discharge requests and support patient needs.
• Collaborate with physicians, case managers, and branch teams.
• Set up and operate respiratory care equipment including oxygen therapy and NIV/ventilation.
• Inspect equipment for proper operation and perform clinical assessments (pulse oximetry, ETCO2, spirometry).

What you’ll do

• Conduct home visits to perform oxygen, CPAP/BiPAP, and ventilation equipment setups and follow‑ups.
• Educate patients and caregivers on equipment use, cleaning, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
• Assess patient needs, document care delivered, and elevate concerns appropriately.
• Respond to hospital discharge requests and support patient needs.
• Collaborating with physicians, case managers, and internal branch teams.
• Maintain accurate documentation using iPad/laptop.
• Set up and operate various types of respiratory care equipment, including, but not limited to, oxygen therapy, nebulization therapy, apnea monitoring, suctioning, PAP, invasive and non‑invasive ventilation.
• Inspects and tests equipment to ensure proper operating condition.
• Perform clinical assessments and tests such as pulse oximetry, ETCO2, spirometry and gathering vital signs.
• Performs other duties as required.

What we look for

• Registered Respiratory Therapist with an active IN RT license.
• Minimum 2 years of experience as an RT or RN in respiratory care.
• Ability to stand, lift, push and/or pull objects ranging from 10 – 50 lbs.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Comfortable using mobile technology, navigation tools, and digital documentation.
• Education: Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
• Certificates, licenses, registrations or professional designations.
• Hold a current RCP license in the state of practice (or states that the location covers) if that state requires an RCP license to allow the practice of respiratory therapy.
• Hold a current CPR Certification.
• Hold all applicable licensure in good standing for all states of practice.
