Job summary

LongTerm Healthcare in Illinois is seeking a compassionate Respiratory Therapist (RT) to join our Skilled Nursing Facility. You will provide respiratory care, monitor residents, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to improve comfort and outcomes.

The role welcomes both new graduates and experienced RTs, requires BLS and state licensure, and offers flexible scheduling, full-time and part-time options, health benefits, and paid time off.

Qualifications

• Current Respiratory Therapist license/credential required for the applicable state.
• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
• Current BLS certification required.
• New graduates and experienced Respiratory Therapists are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory therapy services to residents in accordance with physician orders and individualized care plans.
• Perform respiratory assessments and monitor residents for changes in respiratory status.
• Provide treatments such as oxygen therapy, nebulizer treatments, breathing treatments, and other respiratory care as ordered.
• Assist with respiratory equipment and ensure equipment is properly maintained and used safely.
• Monitor oxygen saturation, respiratory rate, lung sounds, and other relevant clinical indicators.
• Recognize changes in a resident's respiratory condition and communicate concerns promptly to nursing and medical staff.
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians, rehabilitation staff, and other members of the interdisciplinary team.
• Educate residents, families, and caregivers regarding respiratory treatments, equipment, and disease management as appropriate.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
• Follow infection‑control, safety, and facility policies and procedures.
• Provide compassionate, respectful care while maintaining resident dignity and privacy.
