Job summary

Accolade Healthcare is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to promote and restore patients' health in a non-remote, on-site capacity in Illinois. The role emphasizes independent work, collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, and minimizing avoidable hospital readmissions.

Requirements include active CRT or RRT credentials, Illinois license, CPR certification (ACLS preferred), and LTAC/Home Health experience is a plus. A competitive pay rate and comprehensive benefits accompany this position.

Qualifications

• Active CRT or RRT credentials.
• Active license in good standing with the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation.
• CPR certified required; ACLS preferred.
• Experience in Long Term Care is preferred.
• Experience as a Respiratory Therapist in a Home Health, LTACH, or any sub-acute setting is a plus.
• This position is not a remote position.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality patient evaluation
• Provide thorough medical record evaluation
• Provide appropriate treatment to help residents maintain or attain the highest level of respiratory function possible within the confines of his/her physical condition
• Evaluate, treat, and care for residents with respiratory problems including but not limited to those with tracheostomies including the administration of bland aerosols and suctioning
• Evaluate resident care and resident outcomes as they relate to respiratory care; analyze outcomes and make recommendations for changes in the plan of care based upon the analysis
• Recommend and/or provide appropriate treatment and preventative measures to prevent decline in resident's respiratory function
• Management and weaning of supplemental oxygen
• Management and weaning of trachs
• Assist with pulmonary rehab modalities
• Perform all aspects of direct respiratory patient care
• Provide appropriate resident or caregiver education to help residents maintain or attain the highest level of respiratory function possible within the confines of his/her physical abilities
• Operate respiratory care equipment safely and effectively
• Participate in providing staff education
• Maintain appropriate respiratory supply stock
• Assist nursing staff when required
• All other duties as assigned
