Job summary

Accolade Healthcare in Danville, IL seeks a Respiratory Therapist to promote and restore patients' health through assessments, monitoring, and interventions. You will work independently and with an interdisciplinary team to reduce avoidable hospital readmissions.

Required CRT or RRT credentials and an active Illinois license, CPR certification; ACLS preferred. This is not a remote role, with potential travel reimbursement and a competitive hourly pay rate of $45–$55 depending on experience.

Qualifications

• Active CRT or RRT credentials
• Active license in good standing with Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation
• CPR certification required; ACLS preferred
• Experience in Long Term Care is preferred
• Experience as a Respiratory Therapist in Home Health, LTACH, or sub-acute setting is a plus
• This position is not a remote position

Responsibilities

• Provide quality patient evaluation
• Provide thorough medical record evaluation
• Provide appropriate treatment to help residents maintain or attain the highest level of respiratory function possible
• Evaluate, treat, and care for residents with respiratory problems including tracheostomies and suctioning
• Evaluate resident care and outcomes related to respiratory care and recommend changes to the plan of care
• Provide appropriate treatment and preventative measures to prevent decline in respiratory function
• Manage and wean supplemental oxygen
• Manage and wean trachs
• Assist with pulmonary rehab modalities
• Perform all aspects of direct respiratory patient care
• Educate residents or caregivers to maintain respiratory function
• Operate respiratory care equipment safely
• Participate in staff education
• Maintain respiratory supply stock
• Assist nursing staff as required
• All other duties as assigned

Skills

CRT/RRT credential

Illinois license

CPR certified
