Job summary

Accolade Healthcare is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to promote and restore patients' health within our team-based care setting. You will perform respiratory assessments, monitoring, and clinical interventions for residents under our care, working independently and with the interdisciplinary team to reduce avoidable hospital readmissions.

The ideal candidate holds CRT or RRT credentials, a current Illinois license, CPR certification, and relevant experience in LTC or home health settings.

Qualifications

• Active CRT or RRT credentials.
• Active license in good standing with Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation.
• CPR certification required; ACLS preferred.
• Experience in Long Term Care is preferred.
• Experience as a Respiratory Therapist in a Home Health, LTACH, or sub-acute setting is a plus.
• This position is not a remote position.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality patient evaluation.
• Provide thorough medical record evaluation.
• Provide appropriate treatment to help residents maintain or attain the highest level of respiratory function possible within the confines of his/her physical condition.
• Evaluate, treat, and care for residents with respiratory problems including but not limited to those with tracheostomies including the administration of bland aerosols and suctioning.
• Evaluate resident care and resident outcomes as they relate to respiratory care; analyze outcomes and make recommendations for changes in the plan of care based upon the analysis.
• Recommend and/or provide appropriate treatment and preventative measures to prevent decline in resident's respiratory function.
• Management and weaning of supplemental oxygen.
• Management and weaning of trachs.
• Assist with pulmonary rehab modalities.
• Perform all aspects of direct respiratory patient care.
• Provide appropriate resident or caregiver education to help residents maintain or attain the highest level of respiratory function possible within the confines of his/her physical abilities.
• Operate respiratory care equipment safely and effectively.
• Participate in providing staff education.
• Maintain appropriate respiratory supply stock.
• Assist nursing staff when required.
• All other duties as assigned.
