Job summary

MedStar Health in Maryland is seeking a Respiratory Care Practitioner to deliver patient-centered respiratory therapy across age groups, following physician orders and established protocols.

You will assess patient needs, operate and monitor equipment, document care, and respond to emergencies while collaborating with the care team. Active Maryland/DC licensure and NBRC CRT are required; RRT preferred; ACLS/NRP/PALS within one year where required.

Qualifications

• Must have AMA-accredited respiratory care program with AAS or higher.
• Registry eligible; acute care experience preferred; less than 1 year.
• Maryland/DC licensure required; NBRC CRT required; RRT preferred if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory care per physician orders and established standards.
• Assess physical, psychosocial, educational needs; document appropriately.
• Operate and monitor respiratory therapy equipment; manage oxygen, ventilation, and bronchodilator therapies.
• Communicate effectively with patients and families; participate in crisis interventions when needed.
• Review electronic medical records and physician orders; ensure safety and quality standards.
