Qualifications

• Knowledge of human respiratory anatomy, physiology and pathology as related to respiratory care.
• Ability to assess patient conditions and education needs; documentation of findings.

Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory care to patients per physician orders and established standards.
• Perform all respiratory therapy treatments and manage equipment including oxygen, humidity, ventilators, bronchial hygiene and spirometry.
• Monitor patient responses, review electronic medical records and physician orders during shift.
• Maintain effective communication with patients and families; employ crisis intervention when needed.
• Respond to CPR and airway management; participate in resuscitation efforts as required.
• Follow policies, procedures and safety standards; contribute to workflow efficiency and interdepartmental coordination.
