Responsibilities

1. Provide evaluation and care for respiratory therapy patients.
2. Administer prescribed respiratory therapeutic services.

Minimum Qualifications

• Education, Certification, and Licensure: Licensed by West Virginia Board of Respiratory Care as a Licensed Respiratory Therapist - Registered (LRTR), or applicable state license, or temporary license if permitted. Obtain BLS certification within 30 days of hire. Additional certifications like ACLS, PALS, NRP may be required within 30 days or 6 months based on hospital requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

• Two years of hospital-based respiratory therapy experience.

Core Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform therapeutic procedures for neonatal, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients.
• Maintain and troubleshoot respiratory care equipment.
• Manage mechanical ventilation for all age groups.
• Communicate effectively with healthcare team and patients.
• Assist with patient and family education.
• Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement activities.
• Perform diagnostic procedures as ordered.
• Maintain professional competency.

Physical Requirements

• Stand and walk for extended periods.
• Lifting, pushing, or pulling up to 40 pounds.

Work Environment

• Maintain a safe environment, aware of infection control and environmental factors.
