Responsibilities

1. Evaluate and care for respiratory therapy patients.
2. Administer prescribed respiratory therapeutic services.

Minimum Qualifications

• Education, Certification, and/or Licensure: Licensed by West Virginia Board of Respiratory Care as a Licensed Respiratory Therapist - Registered (LRTR) or applicable state license. Obtain Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of hire. Additional certifications like ACLS, PALS, NRP may be required within 30 days or 6 months depending on hospital requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

• Two (2) years of respiratory therapy experience in a hospital setting.

Core Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform therapeutic procedures for neonatal, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients as ordered.
• Maintain and troubleshoot respiratory care equipment.
• Manage mechanical ventilation for various patient age groups.
• Communicate effectively with healthcare team members.
• Assist with patient and family education.
• Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement activities.
• Perform diagnostic procedures as ordered.
• Maintain professional competency and departmental skills.

Physical Requirements

• Stand and walk for extended periods.
• Lift, push, or pull up to 40 pounds.
