Summary of Job Duties: This posting will be used to fill multiple positions. Schedule: Full Time; Night Shifts Available.

The Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) works under physician direction and supervises the Respiratory Care Clinical Team Manager. The CRT provides quality patient care, promotes a healthy work environment, and projects a positive image for UAMS Medical Center.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School diploma plus 2 years of direct respiratory care experience OR an Associate's degree in Respiratory Care.
  • Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT).
  • Current Arkansas Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner (LRCP).
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Care.
  • ACCS, NPS, ACLS certifications.

Additional Information:

$10K Sign-on Bonus is available

Responsibilities include:

  • Performing routine respiratory care procedures (e.g., updrafts, MDIs, chest physiotherapy, ABGs, incentive spirometry, IPV, patient education, ventilator management).
  • Assisting in codes and rapid responses.
  • Documenting patient treatment notes in the e-chart system and patient charts.
  • Managing equipment and supplies.

Employees must be fitted for and capable of donning PPE including N95 masks, PAPR, or CAPR.

Physical requirements include:

  • Frequent standing, walking, handling heavy objects, and using hands.
  • Occasional bending, crawling, crouching, and reaching overhead.
  • Ability to lift and carry over 100 lbs.
  • Ability to push and pull over 100 lbs.
  • Continuous hearing, reading, concentration, and visual acuity.

Work environment: Inside medical facility with moderate noise level. Hazards include biological, chemical, dust, electrical, fumes, radiation, and sharp objects.
